Should gov't ban race or sex discrimation? (VIDEO)

-
Yaron Brooks gives a cogent and rational explanation for Gov't's role in handling discrimation in the land. I do not side 100% with the cornerstone of his argument because the rationalization is overly  optimistic and overly theoretical. But, however, the premise that people should be rational and principled enough to reject dispassionate and barbaric attitudes/conduct (non-sporting) without depending reflexively on gov't to sort out it is strong.
Unfortunately human behaviour is weak and collective.

Alex Jones outsmarts Piers Morgan

-
Piers Morgan is shit. Or, in British parlance, a liddle shyte. He by no means fills the shoes of his predecessor Larry King - how he ever got the job is a wonder! - or even comes close to good interviewing in the same league as Oprah Winfrey, Wm F. Buckley, Jr; Barbara Walters, Tom Snyder, or Ted Koppel. Morgan is not a class act interviewer or warming host and we all know his journalist credibility is atrocious.
Alex Jones loudly gives Morgan a big dose of cura te ipsum
Piers Morgan is a smarmy, clever twat whose English accent, let's face it, still rings high-brow and charming to foreign ears -- until you get beyond the accent and hear how stupid and priggish he really is. But as clever as he is he wasn't clever enough for radio host Alex Jones.

Alex Jones loudly gives Morgan a big dose of cura te ipsum and does not fall for the T.V. host's tricks of manipulative banter and slippery slope factoids.

From strange fruit to root water...?

From hanging 'em to "watering" the trees with 'em. Billy Holiday crooned about the strange fruit lynching produced and now American chauvinists---angry whites, birthers, right-wing 'soldiers' a la Wm Kostric---are reminding citizens of the need to, as Thom Jefferson phrased it, water the tree of liberty with the blood of patriots and tyrants. Hello! Damn, they don't make town hall meetings like they used to.

Where's the Federal Reserve's audit?

That's the question---challenge---Ron Paul is advancing to his congressional colleagues and the American people: Audit the Fed!

"I'd like to know everything they're doing.," said the Texas congressman with libertarian views. "We have a right to know what they're doing. They can literally create trillions in guarantees and not report them to us."

Of all the organizations and businesses in the country the Federal Reserve, which is a private company and NOT, as many citizens believe, a government body, is the only outfit immune to an audit. How do they dispense with their money, from where do they get it, where are their accounting books...? We don't know. The U.S. govt does not know.

In forging transparency, the Obama Administration must take the bold move in requiring accountability and transparency from this money organization. These economic times demand it. But long before the U.S. economy made chumps and homeless out of many Americans---and people around the world---our American values of fairness and checks-and-balances required the Federal Reserve stand into the light like every other business.

Ron Paul and the wimp factor

The lost cause of
the Ron Paul revolution is due to the object of its affection: Ron Paul. Bluntly put, the man is not a revolutionary. One cannot have a revolution without a revolutionary. Ernesto Guevara understood this and, consequently, put down the stethoscope and took up arms (and the ever chic beret. Nothing says avant garde quite like it). The only thing Dr Paul is taking up these days is space in the blogsosphere...like this one.

But there is a good reason why we write about the man who could be a maverick.
We believe in for what he stands. We believe in what could have been. We like to believe in what still might be.

Ron Paul has the trappings of a strong contender---indomitable spirit, steadfast conviction, free thinking reinforced by an actual philosophy, money, hardcore base of independent voters---except he is a wimp. He suffers from the wimp factor...that and he is a Republican following eight years of Monkey-Cheney. Think George Bush, the elder sans Ronald Reagan's coattails. At a recent book signing he "reaffirmed that he wasn’t going to run as a third-party candidate and replied that it was up to his supporters to decide what to do."

Dr Paul is too much of a wimp to spearhead a revolution on anything other than recommended breast feeding practicum (he is a licensed pediatrician). Did you notice him during the debates---y´know, when the camera zoomed out, that is? And the California one at the Ronald Reagan library? He came off like a codger that the University keeps on as a campus legend (but conveniently omits from faculty meetings). view clip

His "who said what, when, wh..." rant of an answer was sensible and good for a chuckle from the uptight audience but it only amounted to some comic relief from a mildly rancorous long shot of an also-ran.

Any candidate, no mater how bright or right or mighty, whose principal guidance to his followers is to "do whatever you want" is not fit to lead them to Hell. Even if a monkey can do it.
