That's one of the take-aways from developmental psychology research conducted by Larisa Hussak and Andrei Cimpian. The bigger question their data leaves them to highlight, though, is why do we assume life is fair? Why do we cling so to this belief? Perhaps it owes to our ability to rationalize.
It almost seems to be human nature to explain away the inequalities we encounter as simply the way things are supposed to be.

UPDATE: Middle School teacher Mr Barron was allowed to return to the classroom following the two week's suspension/investigation into much ado about nothing. The School Board issued a spin rather than an apology.
Michigan junior high school history teacher Alan Barron has been suspended (with pay or, as school administration insists, "on leave") owing to teaching that Jim Crow segregation was so normal at one time in America that actors used to routinely perform in blackface, a term probably lost on today's youth, and complemented his lesson with a video.
It was during so that Assistant Principal, Melissa Provo who, according to various reports, either happened by or was sitting in during the lecture, ordered the video stopped immediately. As per her logic, by teaching about racism the lesson was, itself, racist. The icing on the cake? Mr Barron is retiring in a couple of weeks -- after more than thirty years of teaching in the local school district. Only he won't be able to attend the going-away party because, pending investigation whilst "on leave", he's barred from school grounds and functions.
Maybe Mr Barron should've stuck to encouraging "dialogue" on man sex and lesbian licking. At least he would've been flown out to appear on the Ellen show (and Anderson Cooper, Oprah, LOGO, Bravo channel, etc).
For what it's worth, it seems no one in the community but the principal sides with MS Provo's assessment.

The American Studies Association (ASA) has caught on and so has many European companies who are, finally, regrowing a set of balls. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation divested itself of all stock in the private security company G4S as did the United Methodist Church. Most recently the (American) Presbyterian Church, while not full subscribers to BDS, has just voted to rid itself of stock in Caterpillar, Hewlett-Packard, Motorola Solutions for those companies' involvement in ongoing Israeli-only re-settlement projects.
On cue, PM Netanyahu framed the protests "anti-Semitic". Of course. Only that cry ain't very accurate at all, is it Bibi?

In other school news, did you hear the one about the student who cried "rape" because she transgressed the school dress code? Quebecois high school junior, Lindsay Stocker claims the institution "humiliated" her and condones male chauvinism because the daisy dukes she wore to school were, of course, too short and, thus, in violation of the dress code.
I'm arrested at the UK border for having thongs and speedos in my suitcase and accused of playing the race card for complaining; yet news outlets and Twitter retards cover the oh so traumatizing incident of this hurt little white girl.
This is just another common case of white girl entitlement. Instead of accepting fault for her actions, Miss Stocker throws a fit and blames heterosexual boys. Naturally this is the same ilk of person who shames heterosexual males for not wanting homosexuals around them in close quarters. Well, well, well! When will daddy's princesses get over themselves (and, while at it, learn to tan)??

A wordsmith, I love all things that have to do with words - pronunciation, syllables, various correct spellings (e.g., tire/tyre), homonyms (e.g., liar/lyre), rhyme, the harmony of a coherent paragraph, the temper of a moving speech - especially etymology (not to be confused with entomology).
Today's 'word of the day' is not the typical unusual specimen that only gets the rare breath of light in something like The New Yorker, at gatherings of effete academics or when someone thumbs through the Oxford English Dictionary in search of the definition of that arcane word needlessly employed by the effete academic in his article to The New Yorker. No, the mot du jour is one with which we're all quite familiar and, thanks to progressivism - and ABC network - are near daily encountering new famous, living exemplars: faggot. The following explanation comes courtesy of anonymous online commenter fingKweersBePerverts (he sounds like a 'colorful' character. Consider yourself warned) to "Pedophile teacher abused dozens as clues missed" .

Once convicted, the homosexual would be sentenced to be burned at the stake. They would take the homosexual and bind him to a sturdy post and then scatter a "fa660t" of wood at his feet.
The victim, or more commonly victims, the teen aged boys who were sexually molested would then be offered the opportuny[sic] to light the fire.
It became common for numerous boys to be fighting screaming "i wanna light the fa660t", no, "i wanna light the fa660t". hence the association between the male homosexual and the term fa660t!!!

Blacks are everybody's scapegoat. When any organized group, no matter how disparate, start kicking up sand and demanding better treatment said group always aligns themselves with us black people. Because as black people we are expected to know the depths of pain, sorrow, degradation and, further, to unquestionably sign on to everyone's cause du jour. Only, as black people, we are not expected to know the heights of corporate success, equity, upward mobility -- outside of entertainment.
Homosexuals have been whining for quite some time about their parity with the black race and now that chutzpah has shown even in their association with the AIDS disease. (If it isn't a race thing, then why not saddle up to the exclusive Chinese/Korean/Malaysian/Indian communities; or the unavoidably large illegal Latino population?)
I took snapshots of these actual billboards towering throughout Hollywood in time for the national holiday in his honor. The organization behind this propaganda is the otherwise commendable AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF). For the record, AIDS is not a civil rights issue and associating Rev Dr Martin Luther King, Jr with it is a goddamn crying shame.

AIDS and MLK go together like obesity and Abraham Lincoln. The AHF missed the mark with this campaign.Dr King was a Christian minister and I have rarely met homosexuals or those on the party circuit who embrace/reflect/strive towards Christian living. Instead, such people categorize themselves as "spiritual" and articulate disdain for organized religion. Their's is a doctrine that encourages hedonism or doing-whatever-makes-you-feel-good. That ain't Christianity. Christian doctrine has principles not least of which is a restraint of our very human carnal urges and desires, stretching from love-making to hatred. Dr King was liberal in as much as he challenged the white establishment in the 1960s for equality but he would not condone the abject vulgarity and looseness of today's America with its abandonment of family values, rejection of Christian teachings, the retardation of black dignity and the misappropriation of the Black Civil Rights Movement by the homosexual agenda. He was not the opportunist that so many of our religious leaders are today. And, yes, he was a religious man.
AIDS is not a civil rights issueBeing "born this way" holds no truck. We all fall short of the glory of God but only the lost and wicked take it as a license to maintain a distance from His glory, wallowing in their un-holy shortcomings as a rat in sewage. And the media which say it is okay to live like this are spewing propaganda at odds with Dr King's messages. AIDS is a very real and very important problem which the world must confront creatively, fervently, and compassionately but hijacking our icons is not the way to win over people. AIDS and MLK go together like MLK and amputees, or obesity and Abraham Lincoln. Bad education is no different than an unjust law: they both influence/effect people's lives detrimentally. The AHF missed the mark with this campaign. You don't raise people up by desecrating their hero's legacies.
