Sparing themselves an upcoming court trial, Miss Spears has agreed to give ex-hubby, Mr Federline sole custody of their two sons. In turn, she has visitation rights.
Interestingly enough, according to Mr Federline's lawyer, his client was only gunning for some structured co-parenting arrangement instead of all out custody. But he dare not complain. Also interesting, is the stabilizing influence Miss Spear's father played in the matter.
I bother to write about this story not because of the celebrity factor but because of the 'win', of sorts, for father's rights and the importance of the role of the father in his child's life; a role which is too often usurped or discouraged by vengeful mothers and the court system which tends to side with them "in the best interests of the children".
