Chris Dickerson - Bodybuilding Hall of Fame Induction 2014

-
Here's amateur footage of legendary bodybuilder Chris Dickerson being inducted to the Hall of Fame earlier this month at the annual Independence Day Mr & Ms Muscle Beach. I specifically entered this year because of it and felt privileged to have met the man. Click here to read about how I fared in my first Venice Beach show (link opens in a new window).

Google has no gay message for World Cup

-
Say, Google, where is your politicized homepage now that another world games is being held?

You do remember the, what would you call it, humanist(?) stance your company so proudly advertised during the Winter Olympics held in Russia, right? The Games which the West tried - in vain - to make all about homosexuality and homosexual persons. Rather than celebrate athletics or the host country or Olympians you made a big show of endorsing 'gay rights'. Your motive was clearly aimed at antagonizing Russia (note: it's not only President Putin who, in tune with Russians, disagree with homosexual propagandizing to the nation's youth).
Why isn't the Google homepage flipping the bird to hunger, poverty, strife -- in solidarity with the oppressed Brazilians?
Today the World Cup is upon us -- ushered in by weeks of protest and Brazilian unrest. The disenfranchised citizens are angry about lack of food, jobs, upward mobility, equal opportunities, unsafe neighborhoods/gang violence, police corruption. In short, human rights. One noticeable exception to their laundry list of angst? Gayness!
Brazil stages one of the planet's largest rainbow parades, with one of the world's largest rainbow flags, is known the world over as a sex destination, and everybody's just fine with same-sex marriage.

And with no bullshit 'gay debate' dividing/pitting Brazilians against Zionist rich countries you have no stance to make on your homepage. I see the letters of Google dancing and playing the drums. Unlike the Brazilians they seem happy.

Hey Google where are you?

Why isn't the Google homepage flipping the bird to hunger, poverty, strife -- in solidarity with the oppressed Brazilians? Could it owe to the white notion that all brown peoples are perennially happy and full of dance?

Entitled white girl blames dress code

-
In other school news, did you hear the one about the student who cried "rape" because she transgressed the school dress code? Quebecois high school junior, Lindsay Stocker claims the institution "humiliated" her and condones male chauvinism because the daisy dukes she wore to school were, of course, too short and, thus, in violation of the dress code.
View image on Twitter

I'm arrested at the UK border for having thongs and speedos in my suitcase and accused of playing the race card for complaining; yet news outlets and Twitter retards cover the oh so traumatizing incident of this hurt little white girl.

This is just another common case of white girl entitlement. Instead of accepting fault for her actions, Miss Stocker throws a fit and blames heterosexual boys. Naturally this is the same ilk of person who shames heterosexual males for not wanting homosexuals around them in close quarters. Well, well, well!  When will daddy's princesses get over themselves (and, while at it, learn to tan)??

From whence comes faggot

-
A wordsmith, I love all things that have to do with words - pronunciation, syllables, various correct spellings (e.g., tire/tyre), homonyms (e.g., liar/lyre), rhyme, the harmony of a coherent paragraph, the temper of a moving speech - especially etymology (not to be confused with entomology).

Today's 'word of the day' is not the typical unusual specimen that only gets the rare breath of light in something like The New Yorker, at gatherings of effete academics or when someone thumbs through the Oxford English Dictionary in search of the definition of that arcane word needlessly employed by the effete academic in his article to The New Yorker. No, the mot du jour is one with which we're all quite familiar and, thanks to progressivism - and ABC network - are near daily encountering new famous, living exemplars: faggot. The following explanation comes courtesy of anonymous online commenter fingKweersBePerverts  (he sounds like a 'colorful' character. Consider yourself warned) to "Pedophile teacher abused dozens as clues missed" .

A little history on the word fa660t.

Don't you find it peculair that the word fa660t could have two vastly different meanings...
fa660t - a bundle of sticks
fa660t - a male homosexual

As usuall[sic], with the meaning of words, there is an association.
Years ago, during a more righteous and moral time, fa660try was potentially punishable by death. This was commonly done by burning at the stake.
A homosexual would be apprehended, typically due to the trail of sexually abused teen aged boys in his village or surronding villages.
The homosexual would then be tried and brought to justice.
Once convicted, the homosexual would be sentenced to be burned at the stake. They would take the homosexual and bind him to a sturdy post and then scatter a "fa660t" of wood at his feet.
The victim, or more commonly victims, the teen aged boys who were sexually molested would then be offered the opportuny[sic] to light the fire.
It became common for numerous boys to be fighting screaming "i wanna light the fa660t", no, "i wanna light the fa660t". hence the association between the male homosexual and the term fa660t!!!

And there you have it! Gives a whole new perspective to the Burning Man, don't it?

# = pound sign

-
The Internet has generated, from the start, its own speech for communicating on it. Through the popularity of social media the vocabulary has grown organically, exponentially  and, as far as the result encroaches on regular "offline" communique, ridiculously.
no reason using the computer means you have to sound retarded
I accepted the e- prefix because it designates a thing as being one and not the other; it is value based (stands for something: electronic) and logical. Electronic- or, for short, email, etrade, ebook, ecommerce. (By now the hyphen is superfluous.) Then came along abbreviations or phonetics of commonplace phrases. By the way (btw), for your information (fyi), estimated time of arrival (eta), see you (cu), because (bc), your/you're (ur), what the fuck?! (wtf).
won't even let the Britishy hashtag cross my lips. For the record, it's a pound sign
But when it comes to the ridiculous I draw the line. I see no reason why using the computer means you have to sound retarded. Imagine a mentally retarded person and a normally or moderately intelligent person saying the following, and tell me which one sounds befitting coming out of which mouth:

  • LOL
  • selfie
  • rolf (as in guffawing)
  • hashtag
  • normie (because writing ie is easier than al?)
When I need to express laughter in print I use haha or sometimes simply ha!; I still 'take pictures'; and I won't even let the Britishy hashtag cross my lips. For the record, it's a pound sign.

I'm sure there are more but I try my best to avoid the desperate slang. I can't help it.
I like to read - and write! - books.

Larry Scott, champion bodybuilder 1938-2014

-
I just learned Larry Scott passed away over a week ago. Only yesterday I was flipping through my collection of Physique Pictorial and paused to look at a photograph of him posing his bicep. I am a little surprised not to have heard about his death in more real-time. Even though I haven't a television I read the headlines daily and follow some fitness and bodybuilding Twitter accounts. Guess that speaks volumes of the state of the sport. (I bet if any bodybuilder had, say, died from cardiac arrest owing to preparation for a contest before/during/after the event there would have been a media frenzy cautioning (parents) against the dangers of the sport.)
what gains a man if he has everything but loses his soul?
In addition to his regional, Mr America and Mr Universe titles, Mr Scott was the first winner of the Mr Olympia competition, a contest invented and organized by Canadian muscle entrepreneur Joe Weider and brother. He successfully defended the title the following year -- and promptly retired. At 28 years old! Years later he would admit the real motivation behind the unexpected move: fear. In biblical parlance, what gains a man if he has everything but loses his soul? Mr Scott, newly wed, uprooted from L.A. and resettled in Utah where he gained spiritual fulfillment in Mormonism and operated gyms and fitness supplement businesses.

When I was in the 7th Grade I remember reading an ad in a comic book  and writing to Larry Scott for the advertised booklet on muscle building. He never replied and I never got the booklet, and I wrote him an angry letter in turn. From that point onward I didn't like him so much. (But years later when I got into the sport and modeling his images were among the dozens I would photocopy to study and practice in my room and gym mirrors; yes all those mirrors serve a real purpose, folks.) Mr Scott's health and vigor were impeccable and his legendary biceps were authentically some 20" big...unlike this fool here.

in 1991 (around age 52)

and how!

Are you a fan of fitness like me? Would love to hear back from readers who met Larry Scott or saw him guest pose.

Creative self expression

-
For me, playing the piano is the most gratifying form of self expression. Where words fail there is music.
-- Philip Wesley, American solo pianist

I can relate to this; only in place of the piano - which I do not play - my instrument is the pen. Where the spoken word (or present company) frustrates me, there is, from the boiler room of my mind to my fingertips, the freakishly uninhibited and exhilarating intent of designing words on paper.
Put another way:

I really think that if there's any one enemy to human creativity, especially creative writing, it's self-consciousness.

--Andre Dubus III

And you: What is your avenue of creative expression?

Crips or Bloods (LOS ANGELES)

-

I like wearing bandanas. They're practical, easy to carry and accessorize. And they look cool. But when I saw the above on display in a Van Nuys Dollar Tree store I paused and thought to myself: Seriously in L.A.?! Will this sunny cesspool never learn?

For those unfamiliar with Los Angeles gang history, the Bloods (red) and Crips (blue) are two of the largest and most deadly organized street gangs. One needn't be from California or in law enforcement to have heard of them. Like Hell's Angels, their reputations precede them. They are bad ass black criminal sonsofbitches who do battle over territory they don't - and never will - own. They've shed rivers of blood and wasted youth on a Shakespearean level. The gang violence of Los Angeles is the backdrop of a  Hollywood movie directed by Dennis Hopper and starring Robert Duvall and Sean Penn called Colors (1988).

On the one hand, no, there is nothing inherently bad - or suggestive - about a red bandana or a blue bandana or a green bandana any more than there is in  wearing a hoodie or high heels. But if you're a diabetic counseling center it probably wouldn't be the smartest move to open up shop next to a pastry chef. And the fact that the L.A. store only had bandanas in those two colors really is a head-scratcher that makes me question management.

Jerk shot for using cell phone in cinema

-
An American man was shot and killed yesterday after he refused to stop texting in the movie theatre. Can you honestly say you've never thought about it before yourself?

Yeah, it was senseless but rudeness is the first step towards violence. He should have died for something greater than being a jerk. And, guess what, he was shot to death by an old retired pig. Justified!

Satan stands for...happiness?

-
Jesus? Ha! That long haired loser...

According to Satanic Temple's website
Satan stands as the ultimate icon for the selfless revolt against tyranny, free and rational inquiry, and the responsible pursuit of happiness.
Above is the actual rendering of the statue proposed for Oklahoma state Capitol. I kid you not. Now if Satan's disciples can just get today's vulgar pop divas (Katy Perry, Lady Gayga, Rihanna, and the ever so desperate Miley Cyrus) to complement network television's handiwork by mixing a tune to it, then youth (aka future voters) will more readily bop and thump to the beat of "tolerance" and numb indifference. In no time we'll have satanic flags enjoying same popularity as the rainbow flags. Hooray-hoorah! Slow and steady underfoot....

United States of America is surely going to the hell hounds

World's thinnest condom

-
It's uniquely shaped, that's for sure; a bit cumbersome and tricky to apply (good things come to those who wait?) and, honestly, reminds me of Saran Wrap -- minus the lubrication.

The importance of font in communique

-
To this day, I still write hand-written correspondence. That means letters and post cards via the postal service and, even, long, thoughtful email. In writing that, I realize that "hand-written" and "correspondence" sound unduly antiquated. Pity.

It wouldn't be so bad if the means of electronic mail (e-mail) were so universal and paramount, due to its type set, but, unfortunately, it's become less individual than that owing to text messages (SMS) and Twitter. Then again, those things don't make people morons so I guess, in truth, it boils down to people's  laziness.

When one has limited space - as inside of a televised commercial break (this is what led to Jesse Jackson inventing his rhymes) or on Twitter (140 characters per message or 'tweet') - or funds (e.g., telegrams) then one must convey himself as clearly as possible as cogently as possible; BUT when one has ample space and only wishes to communicate "What's up?" and yet writes "Wat up" then, yes, that writer broadcasts himself as a grammatically illiterate dumbass.  Of course, anyone who has enough wherewithal to use the Internet is not legally mentally retarded which only leaves the following option: lazy dumbass.

Here is a nice and recent 'blog post relating to font. Don't worry, it's very short:

Jordan Gunn tortured by family. Is this #%@! for real?!

-
Yes.
I simply wept when I read the unbelievable and horrific story of the little brother tortured by his family. I don't watch the News and learning of these sadists was no way to start my morning -- except to be thankful that I have a good morning!

It reminded me of the biblical tale of King David and his sick, twisted jealous brothers -- only these motherfuckers weren't jealous of the boy; just sick and twisted.

Maybe they are fans of the "Saw" movie franchise or some other diabolical garbage with no redeeming morals? All that passes as 'entertainment' doesn't stay so; doesn't switch off at "The End". What repeatedly goes into our minds and senses comes out in our behaviour and character.

Decapitated copperhead attacks -- itself! (VIDEO)

-
Here is as telling an example as ever there was on the true nature of a venomous snake. Enjoy (and heed the lesson!):

OR maybe - maybe - this was its way of releasing itself from the pain...ending its own misery?

We know human beings commit suicide (and seek 'assisted suicide') and we know of the, yet inexplicable, leap of lemmings as well as male organisms in the insect world which literally die to copulate; so, in that vein, perhaps in this video we have documented evidence of another species conscious of affecting its individual demise.

Hey buddy can you spare a...hundred dollars worth of quarters?

-
Over a span of eight years, Buffalo, NY, meter mechanic James Bagarozzo spent half of his work days breaking machines in order to fix his income...oh and have extra gambling money. When the authorities finally caught his clever ass they found more than $40,000 stashed throughout his house, some of it still in rolled coins. In all, the mechanic ripped off the city to the tune of $200,000+!

Some good came of it though. Mr Bagarozzo was able to send both daughters off to college AND pay off the mortgage. Let's hope they're not majoring in accounting. Hello!

Read the news article here to learn how much time porky's got to pay for his crime.

What would Mubarak do?

-
How's that 'change' working out for ya?
Speak up. I can't hear you....
Wake me when this bullshit is over.
And don't forget my jell-o!

Here's a Reuter's article of the more than 100 protesters who were killed by Egypt Security Forces today.
Damn that's a lot of people who didn't go to work. Seriously, how do men in Arab societies have soooo much idle time? Does Allah need to be prayed to that often?!

Danger in [Social Media] clubs

-
The more things change, the more they stay the same. The following comes verbatim from Bob Mizer's AMG Physique Pictorial (vol.10 #2, p.21) which sports a photo of John Tristram posing poolside. Note how generalizable Mizer's 1960s 'public announcement' is to our present age of dominant social media and how...far(?) common-sense has come in forty odd years. Highlights added by author:

THERE'S DANGER IN PEN-PAL CLUBS!
Many of our readers have pleaded with us to provide a name-exchange service for the enthusiasts of physical culture who may be lonely and eager to share their enthusiasm with others, seek work-out partners, etc. We wish this were possible because under proper conditions such new associations could greatly enrich the lives of both. However, past experience has proven to us that the dangers and misfortunes which come out of correspondence clubs often for exceed the pleasure they may give. Essentially, the pen pal is a stranger, and any wise person will be cautious with strangers.

Among the correspondents may be "con-artists" who can cleverly work their way into your life, rob from you, or defraud you. You might, as have some, find on meeting your "letter-buddy" that he is a dangerous psychopath. (One man we knew met his death indirectly through just such an association.) Some zealous police provacateurs have gotten into such correspondence groups and then after inducing their innocent correspondent to break a morals law, have arrested him.

John Tristram 1935-1985
Being lonely is a sad thing, but not the most terrible thing in the world, (being dead or in jail would be much worse, don't you agree?) It is natural to want to meet new people who share our interests, but this must always be done with extreme caution. Make yourself a pleasant, helpful person who can be part of a well established group, that invites new members with discretion and makes them prove themselves before they are put in a position of trust. Every area has such groups, and by inquiring enough you are certain to find them.
